Nananu-i-ra, has been a wind sports haven for years due to the consistent trade winds, warm tropical waters and breathtaking landscapes. Nananu-i-ra, in the North of Vitu Levu, Fiji, is a haven for wing foilers wanting buttery smooth waters for learning, or improving skills and epic wing foiling downwinder adventures. The robust south west trade winds from April through November are actually stronger here than anywhere else in Fiji due to the ‘funnelling’ effect as the wind rushes between the neighbouring islands. There are no reef breaks in this area, however, there is both stunningly smooth waters behind the reefs and wind chop up to 1/2 a meter in exposed areas for those who like bumps!

You will receive unlimited group wingfoiling coaching and tips during you stay and whilst out with the Yellow Boat. We do encourage our guests who are beginners to do a course or take one or two lessons during their visit so that they can get the most out of their time here.
Lessons must be pre booked.
Formal Instruction: AUD$150 per hour (inclusive of gear hire)
True Beginner Wing Foiling Course: AUD$900 (includes 6h of 1:1 coaching time over 3 days & gear hire)

We have a range of wing foiling equipment to hire during your stay. A minimum 6 hours of formal instruction is required for beginners while for experienced riders a 1h “Refresher” is required (demonstrating upwind riding and body drag, board recovery, safety competence) in order to qualify for gear hire.
Rental prices are: AUD$150 per day / AUD$700 per week
Our guests also have unlimited access to SUP, Kayak and Snorkelling gear included in their stay.
The SpoT
Home Beach: This is the most accessible spot for wing foiling in Nananu-i-ra, Fiji. Fantastic for all wind sports; windsurfing, kite surfing and wing foiling. The deep water protected bay offers great conditions at all tides. Smooth water can be found behind the barrier reefs at low tide and wind chop for small waves at high tide. This spot can be a little tricky for beginners and it is recommended to have our local guides advising you on the best way to get out with each changing tide.
5km & 8km Downwinder: We run downwinders from a spectacular reef on the edge of the world-famous Vatu-i-Ra / Bligh Waters passage. The safe downwinders allow everyone endless blue crystal clear waters to practise with the safety of our Yellow Boat looking after you. These 5km and 8km downwinders offer flat glassy conditions at low tide - perfect for gaining confidence and riding long runs, then as you continue back to the home beach the wind chop picks up for small wind waves to ride home. At any stage you can jump back on the safety boat for a rest. This is possibly the best downwinder spot when wing foiling in Fiji.
Sandy Point: Reachable by boat this location has a beautiful sandy bottom with shallow areas perfect for beginner kite surfers & wing foilers. This is one of the best spots to learn to wing foil in Fiji.
Foil Bay: With glassy smooth water and more sheltered conditions this is another perfect spot for beginner wing foilers to get up and riding. This is a boat support location where the boat will drop you upwind and pick you up down wind, then take you up wind again for another ride!
